I came across this gorgeous photo just now and it struck me that it might be wonderful to get married in France, just across the Eiffel Tower (:
I cannot believe the second week of school came and went. It feels like school just started only a few weeks ago and we already have to think about assignments and projects! Aaaargh! I suspect this year will be a very busy year indeed. I've decided to dance less and focus on studies more. No sacrifice, no victory people! I really want to maintain my GPA this year and I'm going to put in a lot of hard work tomake sure that happens. I really need and want this.
Huda and I went to Azeemah's house for a very long 20 minute duration yesterday during the dready 3 hour break between Exceptional Child Psych lecture and Criminal Behavior tutorial - during which we helped Azeemah write wedding invitations for her sister's wedding next month. The invitation is gorgeous! All creamy white with brown swirls of font and it's just so awesome!
Twilight was on Start Movies tonight and I watched it while walking on the treads and I think its better than New Moon. Less ticky tacky shit from Jacob and Bella. But I still maintain that Alice and Victoria are both very pretty. Bella too. She looks mature for a 15 year old girl. But a dress with sneakers and tights at her prom? Not hot. Sneakers are for exercising. Period. Bella should sersiouly take some fashion lessons from someone like Scarlett J or Tyra B.
Iron Man 2 is OUT. Must watch! But it means sacrificing time from assignments to watch movie. No no no. Oh and I went to the National Library today and I HATED it. Is it some sort of a constitutional thing that companies hire lumps of old geezers to be security guards? Plus, the security guard that has an inaccurate perception of his importance. I attempted to enter a section of the library where all the books were and the guard at the entrance stood up and motioned for me to go to the desk and said one stupid word "Bag."
And I was like "what?" Because honestly it was my 1st time at the NL and I had no idea what was going on and it turns out it was a bag check. And all he said was "bag". Hello you old fuck? Aren't you supposed to say "Hi Ma'am please proceed to the desk for a security check of your bag before you enter?" Instead of saying "bag"? What if it were a tourist coming in and you just say "bag"? Shouldn't you be more professional?
See THAT'S whats wrong with Singaporeans. We assume that EVERYONE in the universe understands Singlish. This is why Singlish should be banned. All that nonsense about some Singaporean identity and trademark is just plain bullshit.
I CANNOT STAND IT WHEN PEOPLE COMMUNICATE IN FULL SINGLISH. It's like every sentence is comprised of Singlish verbs and tenses.
So the stupid guard checked my bag and saw the book that I borrowed from the school library and was like "Cannot bring book inside."And I was all "Oh this isn't a book from the National Library. It's a personal book" And the guard replied "You still cannot bring it inside. You have to put our bag in a locker"
WHAT KIND OF A LIBRARY DOESN'T ALLOW PEOPLE TO BRING THEIR BAGS IN TO BROWSE BOOK? IT'S NOT LIKE WE INTEND TO STEAL IT! THEN WHAT YOUR ARE SCANNERS AT EACH ENTRANCE FOR?
I was so pissed. I just left and went back to school to borrow some books. Old geezers should not be hired as security guards. Suppose a thief came in and stole something and how can an old dude run after him? This is Singapore's idea of not discriminating the old - hiring the elderly as SECURITY GUARDS. Something is fucking wrong I swear.
Oh and hiring foreign workers from Bangladesh. On the way home, the bus was FULL of them. They are perverts. Won't go into detail what happened at the bus stop today because I'mstill in shock but they are pervy asses.
Okay. Homework. Aaaargh. Later.

Went for Bryan's class on Saturday. I fucking sucked. Period. I hate myself.

Saturday, April 24, 2010

I don't know why but it seems as if I don't have any muscles in my upper body all of a sudden. I don't know why but nowadays when I dance, i wasn't as sharp as I was previously. What's happening?

Sometime's I think I can't make it in the dance department.

Just when I thought I was actually improving and makin some decent headway, reality comes crashing in and hits me hard on the head. Like today.

I hate disappointing Ryan and myself. It's as if I'm the ONLY dancer who cannot perform a nice turn and all. My lines are like crap and sometimes I just feel like giving up.

I don't know what to do anymore.

I'm tired. Really. I don't know how much my mind can handle any more disappointments.

AAAAARGH

I am officially broke. From all mindless spending on books and whatnot. I swear my money-organizational skills really suck because I'm impulsive. I need money people. Unless I can claim my costume money back by Tuesday, I might not be able to go for open class soon! And I want to get a new bag for school! My Armani bag is getting...boring. Plus, I don't like the shape of it. Plus I want to take piano lessons at the community centre - if there are - since Shoe says they're cheaper.

Okay. So - new bag + piano lessons(tentatively) + open classes + food + school books + clothes( because I didn't buy clothes during the holidays) = $596840

I need money people.

Over the weekend alone, I splurged on Subway, Kylie Minogue darling perfume, CLEO and Seventeen magazine & almonds. Almonds and Subway are expensive, okay. I spent close to 50 bucks in one frickin day. Hail me.

There's an e-mail from Mr Chua announcing the new class commitee roles. And oh look.

I've just been appointed class treasurer.

Am watching Keeping Up with the Kardashains and its absolutely one of my favourite celebrity reality series in the world.

And before that I was lazily surfing channels and came across A Walk in the Clouds on Star Movies and it had Keanu Reeves! What are the chances of coming across a movie with your current favourite actor in it?

WHEE.

A Walk in the Clouds is a romance film in which Keanu is an American soldier whose stupid wife asks him to quit his job as a soldier and sells chocolates in Sacramento. So along the way he meets Vittoria, a lovely Mexican American woman who's in trouble because she got pregnant by her professor at Stanford at her strict dad's going to kill her. So offered to pretend to be her husband, and they agree that he'll quietly slip away so that it'll look as though he abandoned her. Daddy hates him but her grandfather adores him and keeps getting him involved in the family and he comes to grow attached to the family.

Keanu is SUCH a gentleman. How come I can't experience something like that? WHY?

Okay so I haven't exactly been blogging for a while.I'm getting quite lazy to get to the platform and type.

I just checked my timetable and it just occurred to me that its probably some sort of an encrypted universal rule that timetables are never meant to be pretty. I mean. God, I do hate long breaks. I figured with 4 electives to take this semester, it'd solve the problem of the long breaks but NO apparently God is still a kid with an ant farm and refuses to acknowledge the negativity of long breaks. And school starts at 9am every single day - concluding that I have to drag myself out of bed at 7am everyday from now on. Bearing in mind my latest phase of insomnia, I will be sleeping in classes. Blame it on the late night DVD marathons.

I've revived my love and zaniness for Keanu Reeves a few days ago, triggered by watching The Matrix Reloaded VCD that I found because I wanted to watch something different other than Pirates of the Caribbean while on the treadmill. And I fell in love with Thomas "Neo"Anderson all over again.

The next day I went out, went to HMV before dance and unearthed The Matrix DVD. It took me like 20 minutes to find it, bearing in the mind the fact that its a movie was released in 1999 and the DVD is probably obsolete but thank God it was still around and going at $9.95. DVDs for less than 10 bucks! How freaking awesome is that?

English subtitles are essential to me, because for movies like The Matrix because they have weird names like Nebuchadnezzar. I like how it sounds on my tongue. That's the name of Morpheus' hovercraft. But now I finally understand what The Matrix really is. The Matrix is actually a programmed software - one that all of us are actually living in. So the world that we are living in now - is programmed. By nasty Machines who'll eventually control us and convert us into machines themselves. The only way you can prevent that from happening is to get unplugged from this control system into a different world. Only you'll end with with plugs all over your body which is not hot. But Neo is GORGEOUS. Did you know that Keanu Reeves is part English, part Chinese, part Hawaiian and part Portuguese, making him a Eurasian? Awesome or what? He's so handsome.

Plus in Constantine, its so sexy that he plays a reluctant hero who has to save the Earth from gross demons from Hell and to prevent the son of the Devil - Mammon - from overtaking the world with the help of the fallen angel, Gabriel.

God I love Keanu Reeves.

When I'm not watching Keanu Reeves saving the day ( he saves the world from the Machines in The Matrix, he saves a bus and an elevator full of people from a psychopath who's an expert in bombs in Speed, and he saves the Earth from Mammon's rule in Constantine), I recap my Spanish. The last I actually touched my Spanish workbooks was probably in June. I forgot the translations for the days of the week and numbers beyond 30,but I was still able to remember verb conjugations. Weird.

I'm going to move on to French. Soon. I don't know when but I was in Kinokuniya recently and chanced upon the French/German section where they stocked books written entirely in the two languages, even for small children, so that's how I knew I'll be dealing with French. Plus, I stole a French magazine from a hotel in Bangkok about 2 years ago.

I have to read this book now. Tengo leer este libro ahora.
Fred and Ginger have to dance. Fred y Ginger tienen bailar.

Okay. Slow and steady wins the race. Moving on to the new chapter now.

I wonder how much a pedometer costs. I'd like to buy one and finally get my life on track and lose weight properly for once.

Oh crap my mother is back. I'm getting used to life without her actually. Though I wonder without her, my dad will certainly fail as a parent, of which he already has. He won't know what to do with my brother, he can't turn on the microwave or start the washing machine. He doesn't speak to his children. He won't bother giving us an allowance. He doesn't know what groceries to shop for.

My own mother is the cause of my low self esteem and self hatred. I'm so fucked up.
And so I was watching The Matrix Reloaded late last night and apparently Neo, Morpheus, Trinity and Link have all come back to Zion and allthe Zionites were having this HUGE party. Half naked people dancing and being so close to each other and it gave me tingles. But I'm 19 years old and am an adult so I took it all professionally.

Then Trinity led Neo away where they had sex. But I'm 19 years old and am an adult so I took it all professionally. But the thought if computer programs/humans having intercourse is just a little weird and seeing all the sockets on their back and arms and chest is just weird. I mean if I were Trinity, I'd be so DISTRACTED if I were to keep brushing metallic things on Neo's back because I'll keep going "Okay I hope my fingers don't get jammed inside the sockets". Plus, why do they get all huffy and puffy? Very chilling to listen to.

But Neo is really hot and good looking and gentle and masculine and suave.

And all this time I was watching this mass sex scene, my father was right next to me. And together, we watched people on screen make love.

It just feels extremely awkward, that's all I can say because it feel WEIRD having your DAD watch a sex scene with his daugher. I mean, this is my DAD. The last time he saw me naked was when I was probably 5 years old, for God's sake. I'm NEVER watching movies with sex scenes with my parents or siblings present ever again.

I am currently re-watching The Matrix trilogy and am in awe at Keanu Reeves good looks. Did you know that he's Eurasian? So how come he looks so darn Caucasian?

Life is not far. Oh and I went for open class today and to put it kindly, I sucked

=)

Smith and Neo are fighting now! GO NEO!

Aaargh I woke up with an aching neck and shoulders, plus my upper back feels a little sore. I realized that its actually the first time I'm doing a Jazz piece without feeling like how I felt when I first did a modern routine - like an elephant. I mean I still feel like an elephant because I'm not technically strong and will stumble once in a while, but still I'm actually executing a Jazz routine. This is so surreal.

I watched Date Night by myself today. It was a laugh. Steve Carrell and Tina Fey are actually very cute together. Oh and by the way, there is NOTHING wrong with watching a movie alone. Such an act alone does not constitute me as an anti-social person or a psychopathic killer / stalker.

Am watching Clash of the Titans with Show tomorrow - CANNOT WAIT!
I am SO tired.

Had dance training today - Ryan's Broadway item for TP's 20th anniversary. Pirouettes ad chaines ruled the routine, but my chaines were better so I need to really work on my pirouettes. Ryan says I need to spot properly. DRAT. But I got the routine down pat!

Okay maybe not down pat. Some screw ups here and there, especially during the chaines because I kepy bumping into people. And I looked like an elephant during the floorwork but I've been listening to the song and MIGHT have figured out which part of the floorwork I should get up and turn and stuff.

I'm wondering when I can practice the routine tomorrow. Mum will be home so obviously I won't be dancing in front of her. Plus, I'll be all sweaty so I'll risk getting the floor all slick and oiled with sweat. BUT I really need to work on my floorwork and get the timing right. Hmmm. I shall figure out a way.

I so want to get it right so I won't let Ryan down. When he split us into groups, I think he was disappointed because I forgot the steps. I'm not sure WHY I even forgot the steps. I think I was too nervous, because I'm surrounded by awesome dancers and the stress of wanting to impress Ryan with how I've improved from Day 1 screwed me over.

Fuck that. Really I mean I'm so retarded.

It would be very interesting to the pick the brains of people who desperately want to assasinate the American president. Not that I want to do anything stupid or ridiculous, but you know - just out of curiousity.

Monday, April 5, 2010

It's been a while since I wrote a proper post. So here goes. Well not that anything interesting has happened to me - more of like I'm bored and I need to occupy my mind with something.

Shoe, Huda and I went out sometime last week to look at guitars, where apparently Shu Yun came across a certain Daisy Rock guitar that resembles the one that Taylor Swift used in her music video for "Our Song". It's nice I have to admit, with the glitter and all. I'd love to learn how to play the acoustic guitar and the piano, then I can play all the tunes that I want to.

We went to Mad Jack (at the POMO) after that and we shared cheese fries and we decided to walk them fries off by walking all the way from POMO to Far East Plaza. Considering how far Dhoby Ghaut is to Orchard, I'd say we did a job well done.

Oh and I went for class on Saturday and I sucked to the max. Okay maybe not really, but apparently an Intermediate class puts your musicality to the test, something which I've not quite grasped yet. I mean I knew what all the steps were. It's just that I cannot connect the steps to the very fast beat & lyrics of the music as yet.

According to dance.about.com, "Perfect timing is being able to "let go" and allow yourself to express your feelings through your movements, instead of trying to keep count of the beats in your head. When you achieve perfect timing, your dancing will appear relaxed and natural. You will no longer need to count beats, as your body will be fully aware of its place in the music at all times. Professional dancers are masters at perfect timing."

And this based on this interpretation, I can very conclude that out all of the eight 8s of the routine, I have perfect timing for only the first 8 counts. When I did the 1st eight, I was not even thinking about it. It's like my arms and legs and chest just moved - like it had a mind of its own. This phenomenon is labelled muscle memory, fyi. The rest of the 7 eights were a bit of a nightmare though I would say I was definitely sharper as compared to previous experiences.

I just hope the instructor does not post the video of us doing the routine. Its bad enough that he put me in front. I honestly did not know WHY he made me stand in front. I made a mess and ruined his lovely sexy routine.

I hate myself.

Sod it. I'm going to watch Speed now. Hearing the theme song makes me all jumpy and adrenaline-excited. KEANU REEVES ROCKS. How come Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves still look so youthful even though the movie was filmed like 16 years ago? It's a mystery.
