My grandpa has Facebook. I cannot believe this. My 70 year old English grandfather created a Facebook account a week ago. It's so surreal and a relief to finally think that he knows that the Internet can be used as a social networking medium other than communication via email.

Dance training for the TP Graduation Ceremony and Anniversary starts on Wednesday.

Am going to Borders and get my hands on Jodi Picoult's books. Salvation at last. Just finished reading Handle With Care which I bought on Saturday. I cried while reading it. More later.

Curse of the Music Videos

Oh my god.

I was watching this small boy singing, whom every girl on the planet is in love with now, who goes by the name of Justin Bieber.

I'm sorry but his songs are for pre-adolescent girls. And his voice? It's pre-pubescent. I'd like to see how his fan base will morph into girls my age when his hits puberty and his voice goes down a treble. But honestly the more I look at him in his videos, I think he could be the next Zac Efron when he becomes older, in the looks department. His eyes look rather smoky, coupled with the fact that they're baby blue. And its a little psychologically disturbing to see a 12 year old boy wearing a work shirt with the sleeves rolled up to the elbows, because that's how I like my men.

And probably the next Justin Timberlake, in the vocal department I mean. Even though J.T has a not so deep voice, he sings absolutely sexy songs (e.g. Like I Love You - of which I could not stop listening to for almost a week). Plus, his songs are more geared towards the RNB genre which is cool. But Justin B can never replace my Prince Justin Timberlake.

Miley Cyrus looks a little like a h**ker in her Party in the USA video. Love her smokey eyes and husky voice nonetheless.

Demi Lovato in Gift of a Friend. Another Miley wannabe. So passe. Singing Disney songs hoping to break out of her small hollow shell. Like that'll happen. Though she looks strangley Filipina cum Native American cum Latin American in the video though.

Vanessa Hudgens in Sneakernight. Very....unique...dance moves. Cool shiny sneakers, but distracting after a while. Vanessa has awesome legs. Not just the calves, but her thighs as well. Dammit. She looks hot in her knee high socks, whereas I looked like Humpty Dumpty in MY knee high socks for GEM5. Ness is pretty though. Our hair texture is about the same. Neither flat curls nor very big hair. Nice smokey eyes with clear complexion and toned body. And her unique heritage. Something like Filipina and Native American. Ness should move on to more grounded and serious music, and break away from such cliched music that typecasts her as a Miley wannabe.

The Jonas Brothers in SOS. Utter crap. 15 year old boys playing dress up and straddling guitars meant for the big guns and their pre-adolescent voices. Enough said.

The Jonas Brothers in Paranoid. What happened? They look different as compared to in SOS. Their shoulders have miraculously broadened and sporting tiny vestiges of facial hair. Congratulations! They've hit puberty! Sad enough, they're still singing pre-adolescent songs.

Hilary Diff in Reach Out. Ooh la la Lizzie McGuire has grown up. Better wardrobe. Edgier and more sexier. Eye makeup is too smokey though and is it me or does it make her look like a 30 year old woman? Not hot.

Hayden Panettiere in Wake Up Call. Oh God. Is the world FULL of Miley wannabes with their cliched music and lyrics or what?

Jesse McCartney in How Do You Sleep. Okay so maybe he dyed his hair and got a better wardrobe as compared to when he was in Beautiful Soul, but I still don't fancy his music one bit.

Christina Aguilera in Candyman. Sexy and awesome. Good strong voice and Broadway-ish feel. Excellent. Enough said. Eat your heart out, Miley and Hayden and Vanessa and whoever Miley wannabes.

Britney Spears in Circus. Edgy. Awesome hair, until I found out its actually a wig, thanks to her hair-shaving impulse prior to shooting the music video. Declaration of awesomeness despite her tragic events in her life and this shows why she still deserves to be the Princess of Pop. Awesome choreography.

"See this one even comes with a phone, so you break up with other dolls". Awesome much.

Usher and Alicia Keys in My Boo. Usher is sexy. Enough said too. With Prince Justin Timberlake.

Justin Timberlake in My Love. My prince. Sexy and sophisticated singer and dancer. Enough said. Dopeness. I like a guy who knows how to move his body. Like Justin Timberlake. He needs to be sexy and tall and sophisticated and cool.

Jessica Simpson in Irresistible. And to think I actually loved this song when I was like 12 years old. But she's got a tight body. Then.

Jessica Simpson in These Boots are Made for Walking. Erm. Nice abs but I bet I can pull the whole short denim shorts too please. I have a flat butt.

Fergie in London Bridge. The reason why she's the Dutchess. She's sexy. Enough said.

Ashlee Simpson in Pieces of Me. Just cool and chill out music. She doesn't resemble her sister much but must admit she knows how to keep herself out of necessary media spotlight.

Oh yeah and I went to Facebook and saw the videos for GEM5. I look like an ass. God, I really need to improve in the dance department. Why didn't my mother force me to join dance classes when I was 3 years old? WHY? Need. to. Improve. Much. Just shoot me.

Just went to the O School website to check out the schedule for the open classes and a new schedule's been set up in light of their new location at the SCAPE.

I'm soooooo frickin' psyched out now because now there is:

- LA / LY Hiphop (Beg & Int)
- Broadway(!!!!!!! MY DREAM OF LEARNING BROADWAY EVER SINCE SYTYCD!!!!!!!)
- Jazz (Beg & Int)

THANK YOU JESUS FOR ANSWERING MY PRAYERS. YOU'VE FINALLY COME TO THE REALIZATION THAT MY PASSION FOR DANCE HAS BEEN THWARTED BY UNSUITABLE TEACHING INSTRUCTIONS IN TPDE SO NOW YOU'VE GRACIOUSLY ANSWERED MY PRAYERS AND SLOTTING IN CLASSES FOR ME.

I SINCERELY HOPE THAT I'LL BE ABLE TO MAKE IT FOR OPEN CLASSES ONCE SCHOOL REOPENS BECAUSE I'M TAKING 4 ELECTIVES AND WILL POSITIVELY DIE IF I END AT 7PM.

PLEASE AT LEAST LEAVE MY WEDNESDAYS AND THURSDAYS FREE IN THE EVENINGS AND THAT SCHOOL ON THOSE DAYS END AT LIKE 4PM OR WHATEVER. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE. YOU KNOW I WANT AND NEED TO BECOME A BETTER DANCER SO PLEASE MAKE THIS HAPPEN FOR ME.

Right so that's new AND AWESOME schedule. Have never been to SCAPE before though. Am going to look for it today so I know where it is and won't get lost the next time I go there.

Shu and I went to Jan and Zyn's Heaven and Earth Choir Concert, plus we met some of the other HSS mates there and we sat together and stuff. I was contemplating getting flowers for them but I completly forgot about it. I'm such an ass.

Anyway out of all the songs they sang, I really liked the Latin songs the most. It sounds so sacred and traditional and beautiful.

When the ensemble started singing I Say A Little Prayer for You, I half expected them to start clapping their hands suddenly become even more full of life than they already were. Like those African Americans who sing so enthusiastically in churches in all the movies that I see.

OH MY GOD I JUST REALIZED SOMETHING. What if I don't become better even after taking open classes???????? I mean I took hiphop open classes for quite some time and I still suck at hip hop!!! AAARGH

I need to lose weight.

Am going to start right this moment.

Thursday, March 25, 2010

Am attempting to figure out what I should be writing in this post as of now.

Been sleeping like a pig for the past few days after GEM5 ended. I've been just going to bed and sleeping for 3 or 4 hours straight after breakfast and lunch and STILL manage to get undisturbed sleep for 8 hours at night. This is seriously saying something.

Anyway I went back to school yesterday because all TPDE dancers were to head back to the SAR if we intend to claim our costumes. I was contemplating whether to get my money back for the black jeans that I bought from Cotton On that I had to wear for Street Jazz. I mean they were black, and I never had black jeans before. Plus, they look really cool. But after parading around in it for a few hours in the house, I decided to go ahead ahead with my decision to claim in because I realized it didn't really flatter me in terms of jeans leg and waist band.

So I'm going to get my money back for the jeans, the green checkered shirt and black skirt. Yippee!

Oh yeah on the bus ride so school I met Jesscy and we talked a bit about her training for I-Am-the-System so she was like "the choreography is very challenging to catch and you're dancing with extremely experienced dancers" Plus, during GEM5 training, I heard many of my seniors who made it past the audition with ashen faces about the choreography. I think on one hand I'm glad I didn't audition because I have no frickin' idea how I'll be able to get pass trainings because I can't catch choreography fast, but on the other hand, I'm kinda bummed out that I didn't audition, because I really would have loved to be part of this performance, gain more experience and become a better dancer.

Drat.

So I went to Hougang Mall after costume claiming and it's been quite a while since I stepped foot in there. The last I went to Hougang Mall was in our freshman year when Gabriel, Nette, Dian and I met there to discuss our Psych A project. Wow that feels really long ago. Moving on.

Loads of new shops. Subway (HUZZAH!) and....other shops. Cheng San Library was still there which was a tad annoying after I realized that the books there were still so scrummy and limited in selection. I tried searching for the Mary Kate and Ashley Diaries and Sweet Sixteen series, but either the books weren't in their proper places or were missing. Drat.

But I found the Princess Diaries books! I borrowed the 8th and 9th series and I'm in awe at how much I'm missing out. I stopped reading after the 6th book because my life became filled with school textbook and stuff. I finished reading them both by the way.

AND I CANNOT BELIEVE MICHAEL AND MIA BROKE UP. MICHAEL IS HOT. This J.P dude sounds like a player and if you ask me, its so way obvious that he has a crush on Mia through all those classroom notes that he sends her. How could Mia not have picked up the hints. And she calls herself a feminist. Sheesh. When did J.P even appear in the series? I'm thinking he came on in Seventh Heaven, which I couldn't find so I'm going to find it in other libraries. And who the heck is Perin too?

If I were Mia, I'd choose Michael over this J.P dude ANYDAY. I prefer it if a guy hates watching Broadway shows and laughing at supposedly tear-jerking scenes because that's a guy thing. Then we can having a fun litte row/discussion about the entire thing. Having a guy tear up and cry is just, weird for me. Because he cannot make fun of me thereafter and I can't get mad at him and he can't make it up to me and stuff.

And how can Meg C. have Lilly lose weight and Mia to get new boobs and a curvy body and eat meat?! I was actually HAPPY with them having imperfect bodies because I felt SO MUCH BETTER when reading about their inadequacies and now I have to read about how they're getting a new life? And what Lana W probably got attacked by alien-invader body snatchers. I swear I thought she was totally behind the ihatemiathermopolis.com website. But it turned out to be LILLY. What sort of a bitch does that? Immature thing to do really and who bloody cares if she has an IQ of 6000? No wonder J.P broke up with her (even though it happened only after they broke up, but still!)

Is there a 10th book or something? I NEED to find out what's going to happen in the Mia-Michael-J.P thingy.

The whole sex with Judith Gershner thing kinda made me laugh though. I mean, Judith G? It's so surreal. Plus, the whole point about Lilly saying that Mia's an ass to want to have Michael conform to her feminist principles made a point. I mean. I'd be pissed too if I found out my boyfriend actually had sex with another girl in the past but it'd be unfair of me to want him to yield to my principals and morals. Maybe it's because I'm against pre-marital sex. I don't know. It's all so complicated. Makes me realize its fun reading about other people's problems.

Now I'm motivated to source for books number 1, 2, 3, 6 and 7. Maybe I'll head to Sengkang Community Library and try and find it. PLEASE LET ME FIND IT.

GAH I'm so bored I could literally die of boredom.

I forgot how much I detest long holidays. I'm starting to become like Harry Potter: counting down the days til September 11, except for me, it'll be April 19th - 26 more days to be exact. I'm sort of beginning to understand hoe Shia Lebouf felt in Disturbia while he was under house arrest. Except I shouldn't think I'll resort to stacking Twinkies Tower or setting up telescopes and spying on sexy neighbours or psychotic killer neighbours.

Oh I just recalled. I had a huge row with the psychotic sister today and finally gave a piece of my mind. This isn't some mindless little immature argument that we had in the past but rather it's a full blown expression of anger and frustration that left your heart pounding and taking rather shallow breaths.

It all started with me innocently having lunch in the sitting room while I was reading my book and then she came in tell ask me when I'd bring the dog for his walk. So I said I'll bring him soon, since I was almost done anyway and told her to get his plastic wrap to wrap around his paws, because it had just rained and Bobby just took a bath so he was all fresh and squeaky clean and I didn't want his paws to get all muddy and dirty and risk getting ticks.

However, the sister hates putting the plastic thingy on and I insisted that Bobby wear it. So she grumpily grabbed the box from the table and started muttering curses.

So I had enough of her nonsense and exploded "I'm only asking you to wrap Bobby's paws because it's wet and dirty outside so why must you grumble?

So she replied "Whatever" and walked away muttering even more curses so I exploded again "This is why your boyfriend broke up with you because you're so fucking shallow with your attitude." Then she went "For the record, I dumped him". So I countered with "Yeah right. You're so needy and self centered and I'm right and you're wrong and you know that I'm right."

So then she went ahead to bring the dog for his walk and I was left in the living room with my heart pounding in my ears. I swear it felt to weird. I never had this weird feeling with all the arguments I had with my mum. Maybe because its the first time I'm actually raising my voice and getting a load of my chest.

Oh well. It was certainly an experience. After she left I simply went back chewing on my vegetable stalks and continued reading my Shopaholic book.

Anyway, am hoping to go for more formal dance lessons but am officially broke due to mindless spending done during GEM5 training on costumes and food and other expenses incurred. As of now, I'm reduced to staying at home and watching television til my eyes bleed dry.

Am back to my usual routine of stuffing almonds into my mouth, just like during last year's holidays.

I need to find another way to amuse myself.

I am going to ban myself from entering Facebook because it is too depressing seeing weird and mashed up photos of myself.

I would like a makeover and become a different person. I don't know how. But different in looks. Longer legs, smaller shoulders, bigger eyes, bigger hair, the entire works.

I want to become a better dancer.

I've been sleeping after breakfast and lunch since Sunday to make up for the lack of sleep due to GEM5 training.

I want a bookshelf full of awesome books.

I want to forget about you.
